Hey there, I'm Butters!

Welcome to our Hytale server! I'm Jamie, but most people know me online as Butters or CodingButter. I'm a developer, Twitch streamer, and YouTube creator based out of Flint.

What I Do

I'm passionate about building things and teaching others how to do the same. You might have seen my GameEngineSeries project where I break down game development into bite-sized 15-minute episodes. I love working with TypeScript, React, and building custom game engines from scratch.

When I'm not streaming or creating content, I'm usually tinkering with one of my 150+ repositories on GitHub. I've got a thing for Entity Component Systems (ECS) and making complex things accessible to everyone.

Why This Server?

My buddy Cookie and I wanted to create something special for the Hytale community. We're both developers who love gaming, and we figured - why not combine those passions?

This server is our playground for experimenting with custom mods, unique gameplay mechanics, and building a welcoming community. We're approaching this the same way I approach my tutorials: learn by doing, iterate fast, and have fun along the way.

What's Coming

We've got big plans:

  • Custom Mods - Unique gameplay experiences you won't find anywhere else
  • Community Events - Regular activities to bring players together
  • Open Development - We'll share our progress and maybe even some behind-the-scenes content
  • Web Integrations - This is where things get really exciting! We're planning to integrate the HyBeast server directly with this website. Imagine being able to track your stats, view your achievements, and see your progress all from your browser. We're also exploring the possibility of a live map feature so you can see what's happening in the server in real-time. It's going to bridge the gap between in-game and out-of-game experiences in a way that makes the server feel alive even when you're not logged in.
